Christiano Dutra, owner of Morango back in Brasil, invited me to help him out
on his next digital project: an online destination for the urban dating universe.
A Facebook-like place where people could flirt using virtual greeting cards.
Yeah, nothing new in there, except the fact that he did some major research
and found out that all the virtual card services were either targeted to grandma
or had some horrible cheesy graphics. The point being: there were almost no
destinations for a younger, tech-savvy social crowd when it came to an edgier,
better designed virtual greeting card product.
And that's why Let Us Kiss was born. First as a destination, then as an application
for third party relationship sites, like Facebook and MySpace. Our goal was to create,
develop and distribute, the coolest animated eCards in the planet, empowering
lovers all over the web.
Chris's idea was for me to fulfill the role of Creative Director and take responsability
over the mood and feel of the brand, overseeing the design, content and LUK's
final product (the animations and static pieces).
First thing I did was to call in my partner in crime Kristina Slade to share the duty.
Together, we developed a Business Plan, a Brand Blueprint and a Brand DNA.
With that material in hand, Christiano started his presentations to VC's and kissing
fans around the world.
The second step was to recruit the best talent in the design world, so we invited
Nando Costa and Linn Olofsdotter from Nervo, which I had previously worked with
in the XGames 12 campaign. They fell in love with the project and immediately
started working on the website design and animations.
On the next pages you can see a liitle bit of the world we created. Enjoy!
